Donna Campbell is a Senior Lecturer and Ph.D. candidate in the Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies at the University of Waikato. She is a practicing artist and avid researcher in the areas of raranga and whatu (Māori weaving arts). Donna has presented her research and exhibited nationally and internationally. Her creative work is held in prestigious collection such as the MAA Cambridge, London, the Hallie Ford Museum of Art Willamette University, Oregon USA, the Bishop Museum Honolulu Hawaii, and the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa Wellington. Donna’s key research interests are cultural empowerment through creative practice in Māori weaving arts, customary knowledge recovery and contemporary practice.
